Video Artcards
Art You Can Watch. Art You Can Trade.
What if a film, animation, performance, or other original video could become a miniature work of art you can collect, gift, save, and trade?
Video Artcards bring moving images and visual art together in a collectible 2.5 × 3.5-inch physical format.
Each card features original or authorized visual artwork and a QR code or web link connecting the collector to an original video creation.
Video Artcards invite filmmakers, videographers, animators, performers, artists, educators, and other creative individuals to give their video creations a physical identity.
The video can be watched. The art can be held. The Artcard can be traded.
What Is a Video Artcard?
A Video Artcard is a miniature physical artwork representing or providing access to an original video creation.
The video might be:
- A short film or independent movie.
- A documentary or original interview.
- An animated film or experimental animation.
- A music video or recorded musical performance.
- A dance, theatrical, or spoken-word performance.
- An original video essay, presentation, or instructional video.
- An artistic demonstration or studio documentary.
- An experimental video artwork or other original moving-image creation.
The possibilities are nearly unlimited.
Each card may feature an original drawing, painting, photograph, film still, illustration, or other authorized visual design.
A QR code or web link connects the collector to the associated video.
Some Video Artcards may represent complete films. Others may introduce individual performances, episodes, creative projects, or continuing video series.
The physical card is the collectible artwork. The accompanying video adds another dimension to the experience.
Create Your Own Video Artcards
Video Artcards are an open artistic format. Anyone is welcome to create, collect, sell, gift, and trade them independently.
The standard format is:
- Size: 2.5 × 3.5 inches.
- Artwork: An original visual creation or authorized reproduction on a physical card.
- Video: A QR code or web link providing access to an original video creation.
- Edition: An individually created original or a signed limited edition.
- Identification: The video's title, creator's name, participating artists, and edition details, as applicable.
Filmmakers and video creators may design their own cards or collaborate with visual artists, illustrators, photographers, painters, and graphic designers.
A single video might inspire one collectible Artcard design or an entire series of different artworks.
Creators may establish their own values and make their own arrangements for selling or trading their Video Artcards.
There is no requirement to participate in Minnaar Money.
Your videos. Your artwork. Your terms.
Where Does the Video Live?
Video Artcards connect physical artwork to video hosted online.
Creators may host their videos on YouTube, Vimeo, their own websites, or other suitable video-hosting services.
The physical card includes a QR code or web link directing the collector to the accompanying video or to a page where it can be accessed.
Creators are responsible for maintaining their video hosting and working links, and for clearly communicating any viewing requirements.
Before printing or distributing Video Artcards, creators should test their QR codes with a smartphone to confirm that they open the intended video. The video should remain accessible to collectors, with any viewing requirements clearly disclosed. For greater long-term reliability, creators may link to a page on their own website that can be updated if the video is moved to another hosting service.
Videos do not need to be hosted by Minnaar Money.
Creators retain their copyrights and are responsible for obtaining all necessary permissions for video footage, music, performances, images, and other incorporated material.
Ownership of a physical Video Artcard does not automatically transfer copyright or reproduction rights to the associated video.
A Video Artcard gives a digital creation a tangible, collectible identity.
Video Artcards as Minnaar Money
Selected Video Artcards may also become Minnaar Money — Art You Can Trade.
Artist and collector Steven Minnaar invites video creators and visual artists to submit completed physical Video Artcards for consideration through Guest Artist Selections.
Steven personally selects works according to his artistic standards, choosing only those he would be proud to have created himself.
Through his artistic selection and designation, accepted Video Artcards become Minnaar Money while retaining the identity and authorship of their original creators.
Exchange Your Video Artcard for Two Minnaars
For each accepted Video Artcard you choose to exchange, you contribute the physical card together with one troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
In return, you may choose any two distinct, available 1 SV Minnaar Money artworks from the Catalogue.
Both selections may be works created by Steven Minnaar, both may be works contributed by other Guest Artists, or you may choose one of each.
Your accepted Video Artcard receives:
- Permanent Catalogue Recognition: A lasting record identifying the physical artwork, its original creators, and relevant details, including creator website links.
- Digital Certificate of Authenticity: Documentation identifying the registered physical artwork.
- Sovereign Value of 1 SV: An assigned exchange value within the Minnaar Money system.
- Lasting Exchange Privileges: Eligibility to exchange the registered artwork for other available Minnaars under the established Catalogue rules.
Each accepted physical Video Artcard is registered individually. Other copies of the same edition do not automatically become Minnaar Money.
Submission is free. Artwork and silver are required only after acceptance, if you decide to proceed.

How to Submit
Artists may submit up to three works at a time, as often as they wish.
Submission is free.
Steven may select one, several, or none of the works submitted, according to his artistic standards.
For each accepted Video Artcard you choose to exchange, you provide the completed physical card in a clear protective sleeve, together with one troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
In exchange, you select any two distinct, available 1 SV Minnaar Money artworks from the Catalogue.
The contributed Video Artcard is individually registered at 1 SV, and your two selected Minnaars are transferred to you, each with its own digital Certificate of Authenticity.

For collaborative Video Artcards, participating creators must agree on who is authorized to contribute the physical artwork and receive the two selected Minnaars in exchange.
