Artists: Submit Your Art

Have Your Art Selected for Minnaar Money — Art You Can Trade.

Your art deserves to be seen, collected, and enjoyed. Why not give it the opportunity to travel from one collection to another?

Artist and curator Steven Minnaar invites visual artists, photographers, musicians, and other creators to submit their work for consideration in the Minnaar Catalogue, a growing collection of art created to be collected, gifted, saved, and traded.

Selected works become part of Minnaar Money — Art You Can Trade, joining an evolving collection of artworks that can change hands again and again.

Guest Artist Selections

Artists are invited to submit up to three works at a time for consideration in the Minnaar Catalogue.

Original works and limited editions in a wide range of artistic mediums are welcome, including:

  • Visual Art: Drawings, paintings, original prints, miniature Artcards, sculptures, and mixed-media works.
  • Photography: Original photographic prints and signed, limited-edition photographs.
  • Music: Signed, limited-edition recordings on CD, vinyl, cassette, or other physical formats.
  • Musical Artcards: Collectible miniature artworks combining visual art with access to original music.

Smaller works that are easy to ship and store are preferred.

Musical Artcards — Art You Can Hear

A Musical Artcard is a collectible, physical artwork measuring 2.5 × 3.5 inches that combines visual art with original music.

Each card features an illustration, design, or photograph, together with a QR code or web link connecting collectors to an original musical recording, composition, EP, or album.

Musical Artcards may be individually created originals or signed, limited editions.

Musical Artcards are an open artistic format. Anyone may create, collect, sell, gift, and trade them independently. Only cards personally selected and registered in the Minnaar Catalogue become Minnaar Money, with a Sovereign Value of 1 SV and full exchange privileges.

Musicians: Collaborate With Visual Artists

Musicians make the music. Artists make the art. Together, they make Art You Can Trade.

Musicians are invited to commission or collaborate with visual artists to create original designs for their Musical Artcards.

Work with an artist already represented in the Minnaar Catalogue, or discover new collaborators through the free Minnaar Trading Post and our weekly Minnaar Money Meetups.

Commission an illustration, painting, drawing, or photograph to accompany your music. Pay the artist directly, or propose an exchange of music, artwork, goods, or services.

Artists and musicians arrange their own collaborations, including compensation, reproduction permissions, and music rights.

Both creators can receive credit on the Artcard and in its Catalogue listing.

Completed Musical Artcards may be submitted for consideration in Guest Artist Selections.

Two artists. Two art forms. One collectible work of art.

How Selection Works

There is no fee to submit your work for consideration.

Steven personally reviews submissions and may select one, several, or none of the works submitted, according to his artistic standards.

For each selected work you agree to contribute, you tender the physical artwork or recording and one ounce of silver to the Minnaar Treasury.

Where to Get Silver: One troy ounce of .999 fine silver can be purchased from local coin shops or bullion dealers. Simply search "bullion dealer near me" to find one nearby.

Each accepted work receives:

  • Permanent Catalogue Recognition. Your work is registered in the Minnaar Catalogue under Guest Artist Selections, with its title, details, creator credits, and a link to your website.
  • A Digital Certificate of Authenticity. Your work receives a Minnaar Money Certificate of Authenticity documenting its authorship and registration.
  • Sovereign Value (1 SV). Your work is assigned an exchange value of 1 SV and becomes eligible for exchange alongside other Minnaars.
  • Lasting Exchange Privileges. Your work remains permanently recorded in the Catalogue and retains its exchange privileges as it passes from collector to collector.

For limited editions, each accepted physical copy is individually registered. Other copies of the same edition are not automatically registered as Minnaar Money.

Submit Often. Build Your Presence.

There is no limit to how often you may submit artwork or how many of your works may be accepted.

Submit three works today, another three next month, or as often as you wish.

Each acceptance requires the contribution of the selected work and one ounce of silver.

The more works you have accepted, the greater your presence in the Minnaar Catalogue—and the more opportunities collectors have to discover your art, photography, or music.

Over time, you can build a permanent body of selected works within Minnaar Money, each credited to you and linked to your website.

Art That Keeps Circulating

Unlike a conventional art sale, where a work may disappear into a private collection, a selected Minnaar remains part of the Catalogue even after changing hands.

Collectors may exchange their Minnaars for other available works of equal total Sovereign Value, or combine them toward works of greater value.

A painting might be exchanged for a photograph. A signed musical recording might be exchanged for a drawing or sculpture. Several Musical Artcards might be combined toward a larger work.

Your creations can find new collectors, become part of new collections, and continue their journey through the Minnaar Money community.

Their authorship, Catalogue records, and exchange privileges remain, no matter how many times they change hands.

Create art. Share art. Trade art.

Meet Artists. Meet Collectors. Make Trades.

You're also invited to join our weekly Saturday Minnaar Money Meetups, where visual artists, photographers, musicians, collectors, and friends gather to discover art, discuss their work, make trades, and explore creative collaborations.

Submit Three Works for Consideration

Share your art. Join the collection. Become part of the exchange.

Submit links to photographs or previews of up to three works, along with your name, website, and a brief description of each, including its title, medium, dimensions or format, and edition details where applicable.

Photographers may submit digital previews of their prints. Musicians may submit photographs of their physical recordings or Musical Artcards, along with links where Steven can listen to the music.

For collaborative works, please identify all participating creators.

Please do not ship physical works unless they have been selected and arrangements have been made.

You may submit additional groups of three works as often as you wish. There is no limit to the number that may ultimately be selected.

Submission is free. One accepted work and one ounce of silver are required only for each selection you choose to contribute.

Accepted works become property of the Minnaar Treasury and may be exchanged with collectors. Artists retain authorship and copyright, grant permission to display and promote accepted works, and must have the necessary rights and permissions for submitted material, including collaborative designs and recordings. Catalogue exchange privileges apply to the registered physical work, require a valid Certificate of Authenticity, and are subject to the Catalogue's exchange rules and availability of works. Sovereign Value is an art-exchange reference, not a guarantee of cash or silver redemption.
