You can begin with a single Sovereign and build from there.
Acquire Minnaars you want to keep. Add to them over time. Give some away. Trade with others. Exchange works within the Minnaar Treasury. Combine smaller Minnaars toward works of greater Sovereign Value.
Or simply keep collecting.

Like any meaningful collection, a Minnaar Treasury does not have to be built all at once. It can grow one work at a time.
Start With One Minnaar
Every Treasury begins somewhere.
For many collectors, that starting point will be a Sovereign with a reference value of 1 SV.
From there, you can continue adding Minnaars of different types and Sovereign Values as your interests and collection develop.
There is no required size, strategy, or level of participation.
A Treasury containing one Minnaar is still a Minnaar Treasury.
The important thing is to begin.
Acquire your first Minnaar. Then stack another.
What Does It Mean to Stack Minnaars?
To stack Minnaars simply means to acquire and hold Minnaar Money over time.
One becomes two.
Two become five.
Five become ten.
A collection begins to take shape.
You may stack Sovereigns, drawings, paintings, sculptures, or any combination of Minnaar works.
You can collect slowly and deliberately or make larger acquisitions when the right work becomes available.
The objective is not necessarily to accumulate as many works as possible.
It is to build a Treasury that becomes increasingly meaningful to you.
Your Treasury Can Change
A Minnaar Treasury is not a static collection.
Minnaar Money is Art You Can Trade.
You may:
- Keep your Minnaars.
- Give them to other people.
- Trade them privately.
- Exchange them for other available Minnaars.
- Combine multiple Minnaars toward a work of greater Sovereign Value.
As your interests change, your Treasury can change with them.
A group of smaller works accumulated over time might eventually be exchanged toward a drawing, painting, sculpture, or another significant Minnaar.
Collect what you love. Trade what you don't. Build toward greater works.
Build With Sovereign Value
For ease of calculation and exchange, Steven assigns Sovereign Value (SV) to his artwork.
Sovereigns serve as the 1 SV reference, which Steven values at 1 oz of silver.
Other Minnaars are assigned higher Sovereign Values.
This makes it easy to understand the relative value of works and to combine multiple Minnaars toward available works of greater SV.
For example, several smaller Minnaars may be accumulated over time and later exchanged toward a higher-value work.
This gives stacking Minnaars another dimension:
You aren't only building a collection. You can also build toward the works you ultimately want to own.

You can build a Minnaar Treasury in whatever way suits you.
Acquire Available Minnaars
Browse the Catalogue for works currently marked Available and request a trade.
Request the Release of a Treasury Holding
Some works are retained in Steven's Treasury rather than being actively offered.
If one particularly interests you, you may Request Release. Steven may choose to release the work from his Treasury for an appropriate acquisition or trade.

For collectors who want to build consistently, the Sovereign Circle provides a simple way to acquire Minnaar Money every month.

Throughout history, artists have depended upon patrons—collectors who did more than acquire individual works. They believed in the artist and helped make the continuation of the work possible.
The Sovereign Circle continues that relationship.
Members choose a monthly collecting commitment of anywhere from 1 to 100 SV.
Each month, Steven personally selects Minnaars totaling your chosen Sovereign Value and sends them to you with an invoice.
You might begin by stacking a single Sovereign each month.
Or choose:
1 SV · 5 SV · 10 SV · 25 SV · 50 SV · 100 SV · or any amount in between
There are no membership levels or status distinctions.
Every member of the Sovereign Circle is a patron.
Your commitment may be increased, decreased, or ended before a future month's acquisition.
What Monthly Stacking Can Become
Small acquisitions can become substantial collections when repeated over time.
At 1 SV per month, you add 12 SV over a year.
At 5 SV per month, you add 60 SV.
At 10 SV per month, you add 120 SV.
At 25 SV per month, you add 300 SV.
At 50 SV per month, you add 600 SV.
At 100 SV per month, you add 1,200 SV.
But the purpose is not simply to reach a number.
Each acquisition adds another work, another choice, and another possibility to your Treasury.
Keep what you receive.
Give some away.
Trade some.
Exchange smaller works toward greater ones.
Or continue stacking.
Over years, a simple monthly collecting habit can become something much larger:
a private Minnaar Treasury built alongside the continuing development of the artist's work.

Monthly Acquisitions
Steven personally selects Minnaars totaling your chosen monthly Sovereign Value.
Priority Access
Patrons receive priority notice and access to selected new works and releases.
Treasury Exchange
Minnaars may be exchanged for other available works according to the Minnaar Treasury exchange policy.
Multiple Minnaars may also be combined toward available works of greater Sovereign Value.
Private Invitations
Patrons receive invitations to selected studio gatherings, previews, and other Sovereign Circle events.
A Relationship With the Artist
The Sovereign Circle is deliberately personal.
It is not simply an art subscription.
It is an ongoing relationship between artist and collector in which you build your Treasury while helping make the continued creation of Minnaar Money possible.

The first Minnaar you acquire may eventually sit beside works you have collected for years.
Some may have been acquired directly from Steven.
Others may have come through trades.
Some may remain with you permanently.

I created Minnaar Money because I wanted my artwork to have a life beyond simply being purchased and hung on a wall.
I want Minnaars to be collected, saved, given, exchanged, and passed from one person to another.
I also want collectors to be able to build meaningful collections over time without feeling that every acquisition has to be a major purchase.
You can begin with one Sovereign.
Then another.
You can stack Minnaars slowly, exchange them as your interests develop, and eventually build a Treasury that is entirely your own.
