The Living Sovereigns collection honors individuals living today through original portraits created by artist Steven Minnaar.
You are invited to sponsor the creation of a new Minnaar Money artwork featuring your portrait or that of someone you wish to honor—a loved one, family member, friend, or someone you admire.
Each portrait becomes part of a growing collection of original art created to be collected, gifted, and traded.
Your Sponsorship — 10 oz Silver
For a sponsorship of 10 ounces of silver, or an alternative trade acceptable to Steven Minnaar, Steven will create an original linocut portrait in his distinctive, simplified side-profile style.
Offers of Minnaar Money, goods, or services are also welcome for consideration.
Your sponsorship includes:
- An original portrait design created from a photograph of the individual being honored.
- An approximately 8" × 10" linocut image, printed on 11" × 14" fine art paper.
- A limited edition of no more than 777 signed and numbered impressions.
- Inclusion of the portrait in the Living Sovereigns collection as a 10 SV denomination of Minnaar Money.
- One signed and numbered impression included with your sponsorship.
- Recognition as the sponsor of the portrait within the Minnaar Catalogue, if desired.
Your sponsored portrait becomes part of the permanent Minnaar Catalogue, with additional impressions available to collectors and participants in the Minnaar Money exchange system.

Steven retains the original printing block and may produce up to 777 signed and numbered impressions in the edition, each assigned a Sovereign Value of 10 SV.
You may acquire additional impressions at the same 10 SV valuation, whether to keep, gift, or exchange.
As these artworks enter circulation, the individual portrayed becomes part of an expanding artistic tribute to the Sovereign Individual.

How to Sponsor a Sovereign
1. Choose Your Sovereign
Sponsor a portrait of yourself or nominate a loved one, friend, family member, or someone you admire.
2. Submit a Photograph
Provide a clear photograph suitable for creating a recognizable side-profile portrait. The person portrayed must consent to the use of their likeness.
3. Sponsor the Portrait
Sponsor your portrait with 10 ounces of silver, or propose an alternative trade of Minnaar Money, goods, or services. All trades are subject to mutual agreement.
4. Receive Your Minnaar
Steven creates the linocut, produces your signed and numbered impression, and registers the new design in the Minnaar Catalogue.
Additional impressions become available within the Living Sovereigns collection.

Sponsorship includes one signed and numbered impression, not ownership of the original printing block or reproduction rights. The artist retains copyright and the right to produce and distribute impressions within the stated edition limit. Portrait subjects must provide appropriate consent. Sovereign Value is the artist's assigned exchange valuation, not a guarantee of cash redemption or market value.
