How the Minnaar Art Library Works
1. Discover an Artwork
Browse the Minnaar Catalogue or visit Minnaar Art Gallery & Library in Dana Point, California, where you can discover eligible artworks in person and inquire about taking your favorites home through the Art Library.
Discover original paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculptures, Readymades, and other fine art collectibles.
Find something that appeals to you and inquire about its availability for Library checkout.
2. Place a Refundable Deposit
Each eligible artwork may be checked out with a refundable deposit equal to its assigned Sovereign Value (SV).
1 SV = 1 Troy Ounce of Silver
For example:
- 1 SV artwork — 1 troy ounce of silver
- 10 SV artwork — 10 troy ounces of silver
- 20 SV artwork — 20 troy ounces of silver
- 100 SV artwork — 100 troy ounces of silver
Your deposit secures the artwork throughout the checkout period and is returned when the artwork is returned in its agreed condition, according to the checkout agreement.
3. Live With Your Art
Take your selected artwork home and make it part of your everyday surroundings.
A painting can transform a room. A sculpture can become a familiar companion. A drawing or photograph can offer fresh discoveries each time you look at it.
Enjoy the pleasure of living with fine art selected according to your own individual taste.
Checkout periods are established by mutual agreement, with opportunities for renewal.
4. Return, Exchange, or Acquire
When you're ready for something different, you have several choices.
Return Your Artwork
Return the artwork in accordance with your checkout agreement and receive your refundable deposit.
Exchange Your Library Selection
Choose another eligible Library artwork, subject to availability. Your existing deposit may be applied toward the new checkout, with any difference in Sovereign Value settled as part of the new agreement.
Acquire Your Artwork
If you fall in love with a work and wish to make it part of your permanent collection, inquire about acquiring it.
When a permanent acquisition is mutually agreed upon, your existing deposit may be applied toward the acquisition. Ownership and the associated Certificate of Authenticity are transferred, and the transaction is recorded in the Minnaar Catalogue.

Sovereign Value — The Art of Valuation
Every registered Minnaar has its own identity, history, Certificate of Authenticity, and assigned Sovereign Value (SV).
Sovereign Value is the artistic valuation I personally assign to each work, expressed in troy ounces of silver.
1 SV = 1 Troy Ounce of Silver
This common reference serves three purposes:
Library Checkout: SV establishes the refundable deposit required to check out an eligible artwork.
Permanent Acquisition: SV provides my established value reference when arranging the acquisition of an artwork.
Artwork Exchange: SV allows collectors to exchange eligible owned Minnaars for other available works of equal total Sovereign Value.
Sovereign Value reflects my personal artistic judgment and exchange commitment. It provides a consistent standard for participation in Minnaar Money while allowing every individual the freedom to determine what an artwork is worth to them.

The Minnaar Art Library and the Minnaar Money exchange system offer two complementary ways to enjoy an evolving collection.
Library Exchanges — Change the Art You Live With
Enjoy a 20 SV drawing today. Later, return it and arrange to check out another eligible 20 SV artwork using your existing deposit.
Or select a work with a different SV and adjust your deposit accordingly.
Your surroundings can evolve along with your interests.
Ownership Exchanges — Change the Art You Collect
When you acquire a registered Minnaar permanently, you receive ownership and its associated exchange privileges.
An eligible 20 SV drawing, for example, may be exchanged for two available 10 SV Treasury Editions.
You may also combine multiple owned Minnaars toward the acquisition of a work with greater Sovereign Value.
Every exchange is recorded in the permanent Minnaar Catalogue, preserving the identity and history of each registered artwork.

A Living Collection of Objects of Desire
The Minnaar Art Library is part of Minnaar Money, my continuing artistic project celebrating beauty, individuality, and voluntary exchange.
I create and personally select artworks that appeal to my individual artistic judgment—works that I find beautiful, interesting, unusual, or desirable.
Through a process I call the Minnaar Touch, these works become registered Minnaar Money, each with its own identity, Sovereign Value, and permanent Catalogue record.
The Library brings these artworks into everyday life, allowing them to circulate among individuals who appreciate and enjoy them.
Each checkout creates a new relationship between an individual and an artwork.
Each exchange offers another opportunity for discovery.
And every permanent acquisition allows a collector to establish a personal Minnaar Treasury of works they wish to own and preserve.
The Minnaar Art Library is a living expression of The Art of Freedom.
Library Checkout Arrangements
Artworks available for Library checkout are selected from eligible Minnaar Treasury holdings.
Each checkout is arranged individually by mutual agreement, including the artwork's identity, Sovereign Value, refundable silver deposit, checkout period, care, and return arrangements.
Library artworks remain the property of their owner throughout the checkout period.
Deposits are refundable according to the agreed terms for returning the artwork in its established condition. Arrangements for loss, damage, renewal, and permanent acquisition are documented in the checkout agreement.
Artwork availability and eligibility are confirmed before checkout.
Artwork pickup and returns are arranged through Minnaar Art Gallery & Library at 24701 La Plaza, Suite 102, Dana Point, California, during regular gallery hours or by individual appointment, unless otherwise agreed.
