Provenance

Verification

Each Minnaar is issued with a unique digital Certificate of Authenticity in the form of a blockchain token, recorded in the work’s Registry listing. The token serves as a primary means of fast and public verification and should be transferred together with the artwork.

In addition to its digital certificate, each work may be supported by physical records of authorship and stewardship within the Minnaar Treasury, including Registry documentation and, where applicable, a Minnaar Passport.

Authenticity is established through the alignment of the work, its records, and the Treasury Registry. No single element stands alone; each reinforces the others.

Only works that can be verified through their Certificate of Authenticity and/or corresponding Treasury records will be recognized within the Minnaar Treasury.

Collectors may request Treasury verification prior to transfer.

The following applications may be used to receive and verify that the corresponding Certificate of Authenticity matches the work.

In simple terms

The certificate confirms where the work began.
The passport records where it has been.
The Treasury confirms what is true.
